De Pulsar Time Computer Calculator P3822-2 met een 901 module werd geïntroduceerd in eind 1975 en was de eerste polshorloge rekenmachine in de wereld. De eerste versie was alleen beschikbaar in 18kt. massief goud, maar een paar maanden later werd een meer betaalbare roestvrij stalen versie aangeboden. De eerste reeks bleek een enorm succes en voor kerstmis was alles al uitverkocht, ondanks de enorme prijs. De Calculator was immers gericht "Voor de man die alles had tot nu toe ..."
Zelfs VS President Ford wilde dit een voor Xmas 1975 :-) maar zijn vrouw zei "No way".
In 1977 werd een verbeterde 902-module geïntroduceerd met de flick-pols-functie en ook een aantal knoppen werden herschikt (R & S, = & C).
Het horloge is uitgerust met vier (!!!) 357 batterijen - twee voor het horloge display, twee voor de rekenmachine. Alle berekeningen op de kleine knoppen zou kunnen worden gemaakt met behulp van een pen die is meegeleverd in de doos - een pen aan de ene kant en een plastic stylus aan de andere kant.
Door 1x op de knop Pulsar te drukken, kreeg je het uur. 2x de datum en 3x de seconden. Door op 0 te drukken start je de rekenmachine en eindigen deed je steeds door terug op Pulsar te drukken om batterijen te besparen.

The first version was only available in 18kt. solid gold, but a few months later, a more affordable stainless steel version available. The first series proved a huge success for christmas and everything was sold out, despite the huge price. Calculator was indeed intended "For the man who had so far ..."
Even U.S. President Ford wanted this one for Xmas :-) 1975 but his wife said "No way".
In 1977 an improved 902-module introduced with the flick-wrist function and some buttons were rearranged (R & S = & C).
The watch is equipped with four (!) 357 batteries - two for the watch display, two for the calculator. All calculations on the small buttons might be made with the aid of a pin which has been included in the box - a pen on the one hand, and a plastic stylus on the other side.
1x Pulsar by pressing the button, you got the hour. 2x and 3x the date the seconds. By pressing 0 you start the calculator and did you ever end up back on Pulsar by pressing to save battery life.
Hoewel Pulsar de eerste was met een polshorloge rekenmachine op de markt, brachten concurrenten al snel hun versie op de markt. Tegenwoordig is Pulsar nog steeds de meest bekende en andere collectible LED-calculators zijn de Hughes Aircraft Calculator (ook de markt gebracht door CompuChron) en de meest gewenste LED calculator door Hewlett-Packard HP-01 uit 1977, die werd geproduceerd in een zeer beperkt bedrag. De meest schaarste LED calculator is de Uranus horloge met de knoppen rond de display.
Met een gewicht van 100 gram zit hij nog heel gemakkelijk rond de pols. De leds zijn ook ongelofelijk helder. Deze is mint, zelfs met nog een stukje plakker van verkoopsprijs uit die tijd. Met de originele pen/stylus in nos (new old stock) condition.
Although Pulsar was the first wristwatch with a calculator on the market, competitors soon brought their version on the market. Today, Pulsar remains the most famous and collectible LED calculators are the Hughes Aircraft Calculator (also marketed by CompuChron) and the most desired LED calculator by Hewlett-Packard HP-01 from 1977, which was produced in very limited amount.
